October 19-23

This week we learned the consonants Rr and Hh. We learned the color word black and we reviewed all of our sight words that we have learned this year.
In math we continued to work on learning numbers 0-20.  The kids should be able to put the numbers 0-20 in order by themselves now.  I have noticed that only a few kids know how to count backwards from 20-0. I know this is a hard skill, but I have to test it now for the 2nd six weeks report card.
Here are some free song links that might help:
In science we learned about parts of trees and reviewed how to sort living and non-living items.  These are the four parts of trees that the students must know for their report card test:  leaves, branches, trunk, and roots.
We have a new friend in our class!  Welcome to Back!  :)
We had a fun assembly this week with "The Morris Brothers."  They sang silly songs and gave us tips on how to be HEROs by treating others respectfully.  They also taught us how to deal with bullies.
Our girls got to go to a Girl Scouts presentation.  If you are interested in your daughter joining the Girl Scouts, please read over the paper that was sent home last week about an upcoming information meeting.

We had fun celebrating Miss Jasmin's birthday! We showed her how to put the number 17 on our ten frame charts because she is 17 years old now.  :)
Thank you to this family for the donation of Skittles.
This Rock Star is my Bulldog of the Week.  He loves to learn!
