This week we learned the consonants Ll and Bb. We learned the color word pink and the sight words see and at.
We are learning to write sentences all by ourselves! We know that sentences start with a capital, end with a period, and have a space between the words.
Our new game to practice our letters. You have to use a key with the lower case letter to open a lock with the matching capital letter. They love it!
Our other new game was putting rhyming words into the little house with matching rhyming words.
This week we learned about making predictions. I popped popcorn and left it in the room for a while and then hid the popcorn when the students came back from PE. I told them that we were about to have a treat. They were asked to write a sentence about what they thought we would do next. Many of them correctly predicted that we would eat popcorn because of the smell! Now we are using our predicting skills to help us guess what comes next in our stories.
In math we created our own number line and then practiced using the number line to find a number that is one more.
In science this week we talked about energy. We talked about how light is energy and we experimented with a paper clip and a string to observe how sound energy travels in waves.
Our beautiful art work from art class is on display in the hallways at school.
Thank you to these awesome families who continue to support our school with box tops!
We celebrated Back 30th anniversary on Friday! :)

We got to go to a very special assembly this week put on by Dr. Adolf Brown. He had such a message of encouragement for the students! He brought along three famous musicians to perform for us and remind the kids to treat each other with respect.
