This week we learned word family it. We reviewed all of the blends we have learned. Our sight words were look and has.
Word work fun this week in our ELA small group time.
One of my students wrote her own book and illustrated it at home. Here she is reading it to the class during library. She is a future author!
In math we began our unit on measurement. We spent a lot of time this week talking about how we can use linking cubes to measure length, a scale or balance to compare weight, and a measuring cup to measure capacity. Your child should be familiar with all of these new vocabulary words.
This week in science we learned about oviparous animals and how they lay eggs. We had a real life science lesson out on our playground when a sweet little Mama duck laid her nine eggs in a nest under a tree in the Back parking lot. If you have been wondering why there is caution tape around one of our trees...this is why. The children are excited to watch the ducklings hatch!
Another real life science lesson this week...we found this seed starting to grow a new tree. This is was just like the pictures we saw when we read our Oak Tree book a few weeks back. The kids were excited to see all of the tree parts we had talked about. The have become "Recess Scientists!"
Center time fun this week!
Happy birthday to this fun guy!
My Bulldog of the Week! He is doing a great job in class. He has very creative ideas! :)
