April 13-17

This week we learned the word family in.  We reviewed all of the blends and sight words we have learned this year.
Word family in spelling.
These four smarties won our blend matching game!
This week was dinosaur week!  We read a bunch of stories about dinosaurs and wrote many compositions about the things we learned.
Love this sight word shirt!  It will always help us remember the word like.
In math we completed our study of measurement.
Miss Hannah helped us make a chart of how tall we are in the hallway.
In science we learned about rocks.  On the counter you can see our rock museum.  Thank you so much for all of the donations!  We will send the rocks home after next week.
We experimented to see if our rocks would sink or float.
We made books about our rocks.

To review our study of oviparous animals from last week, our library teacher, Mrs. Saathoff, brought her pet chickens to show the class. She knows everything about chickens and shared a lot about them with our class.

We are having fun doing zumba and brain breaks from the website, www.gonoodle.com.  The kids love them! You can get register for a free account at home and listen to our silly songs.
This sweet girl was the Top Dog of the grading period for the whole school in music class!  This was chosen by Ms. Metcalf.  Way to go!!
This fun guy is my Top Dog of the grading period for my class.  He is reading like a champion!  I love that you can see some remains of his doughnut on his cheek from the Top Dog party.  :)
