This week we learned the consonants Yy and Zz. They were our last two letters! :) Our sight words were is, on, and four.
In math we reviewed many skills. This was a game called Christmas Bump that we played to learn all of the numbers that add up to 10. Your child should know these combinations always equal 10.
(0 and 10, 1 and 9, 2 and 8, 3 and 7, 4 and 6, 5 and 5)
Ms. Metcalf sent me this photo collage of the kids having fun in music class.
Christmas party time! Thank you to all of the families who attended and sent items to make our party so much fun!
This is a picture of the carolers that joined serenaded us on Friday for pajama day!
This guy was my Top Dog for the third grading period. I am so proud of his improvements this year. He is working very hard!
Would you like to surprise your child at school and see a huge smile on their face?! I have a new program starting this semester. I need people to sign up to come and read to our class. Anyone can sign up! Moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, big brothers, big sisters, beloved family friends....anyone. No background check is required for this activity. It won't be hard at all, and will only take 15 minutes out of your day. You can sign up to read at 10:25 and stay to have lunch with your child, or you can sign up for 2:45 and then take your child home for the day after reading. You may bring your own book from home to read, or choose from a selection of books that I will have available for you when you arrive. Please email me at jldefeo@garlandisd.net if you are interested. You can choose your day and time. My goal is for every student in my class to have one person from their family come to read. Please don't tell your child you are coming! I will tell the children in the morning that we are having a mystery reader that day. They have so much fun trying to figure out who it will be. The element of surprise is what makes this activity so fun!
