December 8-12

This week we learned the consonants Jj and Qq.  We learned that you never see a q without a u.  "Q and U stick like glue!"  We reviewed our sight words and learned the number word three.
This is a game of letter Jj word pictionary.
In math, we learned about subtraction.  We also are discovering how subtraction relates to addition.

In science, we learned about paper.  We learned that paper comes from trees.  We learned that you can do lots of things with paper.  You can cut it into snowflakes and you can die it to make it a new color, like we did making poinsettia art.

We had a visiting famous author this week!  Her name is Susan Stevens Crummel.  Try to look for her books in the library some time.  She told us lots of her fun stories.  She chose two students from my class to come up and help her tell her stories.  They did such a great job in front of the audience!
Our Christmas party is coming! Please don't forget that the party will be on Thursday at 2:00 this week.  You will need to send a wrapped $5 book this week by Wednesday for our book exchange at the party.
Happy birthday to this sweetie!
This fun girl is my Bulldog of the Week.  She is improving so much each day, I am very proud of her!
