This week we learned the letter blend pl. We studied the word family ap. Our sight words were you, for, and had.
The kids are becoming master spellers! These guys had a perfect score on this week's ap spelling test.
We played Around the World this Week with Miss Jasmin! If a child gets all around the classroom and back to their seat...winning sight word flash card battles with every other student...they are entered in the "Around the World Hall of Fame!" We had two complete this feat this week. Please make sure you are practicing sight words each night at home. If you need a new copy of the list, please let me know.
These two boys already know every sight word from the kindergarten list and they are starting to work on the first grade list! :) I have several other students close to reaching this goal.
This week in math we began to study the 100's chart very closely. The children know many of the patterns found on a hundred chart. They should be able to tell you the difference between a column and a row. They should be able to count by 1's, 5's and 10's to 100. They also know how to count by 2's to 30. The team pictured here won first place in our contest to fill the hundred's chart!
This week I also taught the students how to tell time to the hour on both an analog clock and a digital clock. I also went over using a ruler with them. I know these skills will be on their math MAP test that we will take next week.
In science this week we learned about objects in motion. We also completed the kindergarten STEAM challenge on Friday. The children were supposed to use tape and cups in any way they wanted to create the tallest tower with their team.
This team created the tallest tower in our class.
Thank you for the tissues donation from this sweet family.
This cutie was my Bulldog of the Week this week!
