This week we learned a lot about "Silent e". We learned how it can change pin to pine and can to cane. We acted out what letter e does and talked about how some people even call him "sneaky e" or "super e". Hopefully your child will remember that e at the end of the word is silent and changes the vowel sound in the word from short to long. They wore their badges proudly after learning all about "silent e"!
In math we are on a unit called "Step Up to Grade 1". The work we are doing is very high level! It will help them review the math skills we have learned this year and see how the information will be presented to them in first grade.
In science we completed our Discovery Journals about ocean animals. The students learned about how to research a topic and how to make a graphic organizer with the facts they found. Then they had to use their graphic organizers to create sentences about their animals.
This fun guy was my Bulldog of the Week!
We have fewer pictures this week for our blog...that is because we have been very busy working on secret things for graduation! :) You will see what we have been up to at Kindergarten graduation on Wednesday, June 3rd at 1:15.
Don't forget to check out the calendar in your child's folder or view the attachment I sent in an email so you will know how to help your child participate in the next two weeks of fun activities!
