November 10-14

This week we learned the consonants Ww and Kk.  We learned that Kk and Cc make the same sound.   We also learned that Kk will usually only stand in front of his buddies e, i, and y.  If we hear the /Cc/ sound before any other letter, we should use the letter Cc.  We also reviewed all of our sight words and color words.
This is a picture of us during "Turn and Talk Time".  The kids were trying to think of as many verbs as they could, such as run, jump, skip, etc.  Your child should know that a verb is something you can do.  They also know that nouns are people, places, or things.
In math this week we continued to explore numbers 0-30.  We made this number quilt for the hallway.
We learned this week to count by 2's.  We also know how to count by 10's and 5's.

In science this week we had several centers reviewing what we have learned about energy.  We also participated in a STEAM challenge with the rest of our school.  The challenge was to build the tallest tower possible with 50 cups and one yard of tape.  This is a photo of the winning team from our classroom.
This week was our awesome Veteran's Day program.  This is a picture of our class with a few of our guests of honor from the day.

We had our second six weeks Award's Ceremony on Friday.  These were our award winners.  One lucky girl from our class was drawn to win a lunch with the principals this week!
We had a painting party for our Effort Extravaganza this six weeks!

We are sad to say that one of our sweet boys is leaving us.  He will go to a new school on Monday.  He will be missed!

This smart guy is my Bulldog of the Week!  He is an amazing mathematician!
